I grew up in Sutton bridge on the Lincolnshire Norfolk border, helping on my family’s smallholding from my earliest memories, picking potatoes into baskets and riding on tractors. Some of my fondest memories are my brother in law teaching me to first learn to drive on his Massy Ferguson 565 with soil and potatoes under my finger nails. Things have changed these days with modern tractors pickers and state of the art potato box stores with robotics stacking grading and stitching the bags, but I still love my job and the whole process.
